Biography

According to her death record, Ingebor was born in 1596. The modern spelling of her first name is Ingeborg. There are lots of spelling variants for her last name.

She was married to Skåre Torstensson, and they had son David, and daughters Marit and Ingjel.^[1][2][3][4]

Ingebor passed away in 1696.^[5]

Research Notes

• The death record of son David (1644-1694) does not add much info. He was born at Gröttvål and died there at the age of 50.
• The death record of daughter Marit (1642-1708) clarifies that Ingebor was married to Skåre and that they lived at Gröttvål:

"den 21 Marti H Marit Skåresdotter i Träskoug födder i Grötvåhl af ährliga föräldrar modren H Ingebohr Askärsdotter
den 29 Mart begrafven hennes ålder 66 åhr"

• The death record of daughter Ingiel (1656-1746) actually gives more detail, stating the full names of her parents as Skåre Torstensson and Ingebor Asgersdotter:

"d. 24. martii dödde änkan hustru Ingiel Skåresdotter i Träskog, föd i Gröttvåhl, f. Skåre Torstensson, m. hu Ingebor Asgersdotter, begrofs af ... Ekelund d. 31. martii, left 90 åhr."

• The court record from June 1651 also confirms that her husband's full name was Skåre Torstensson living at Gröttvål:

"Näst övertygades Skåre Torstensson i Grötevåhl i Gunnarskogs socken å frälse, att han hade slagit Ingrid Svensdotter i Lervott i Edha socken och ther med giffuit henne 4 pustar och tvänne blånader. Hvarföre dömbdes han böta 3 mkr för huartdera åkomman, giör 18 mkr."

• The death record 1696 says Ingebor was 100 years, making her born in 1596. However, taking the birth years of her children into account that seems unlikely.

d 2 Jan Ao 97 begrafven hennes ålder 100 åhr.”

• There is no death place mentioned in her death record.
• Added additional spellings as per other unsourced online trees so there will not be duplicates created.
• Diskussion in Anbytarforum that may shed some light on where to do actual research of this family, see answer no 17 here https://forum.rotter.se/index.php?topic=34789.0 It lists parents for this profile as Assgierd Olufsson in Treskog, Gunnarskog and his wife Anna Persdotter, born in Ryggestad, Gunnarskog. (But there is most likely a mistake there: Anna Persdotter from Ryggesten was the wife of Assgierd's brother Olof.) Does not mention a son named David, just the daughters Ingjel and Marit. The man Assgierd Olufsson was said to be her father in that anbytar-post. However, he had a cousin Asgier Davidsson and an uncle Asgeir Asgeirsson. All three lived at Treskog at roughly the same time, and without further source it is not possible to tell who of them was her father.
