Biography

Evelyn was born January 7, 1893 in San Jose, Santa Clara, California. She was the daughter of Francis Dunstan and Jennie Manhire.

She died at the age of 27 on November 24, 1920 in Sacramento county, California and was buried in Oak Hill Memorial Park in San Jose, Santa Clara county, California.^[1][2][3]

Research Note

Her death record lists her as Evelyn Willis but in the 1920 Census taken on January 3, 1920, she was listed as 25, single and in the home of her father Francis and his 2nd wife. She was an operator with the telephone company.^[4]

So, unless she married between January and November 1920, she should have been listed as Evelyn Dunstan.

Her name was engraved on the top of the gravestone of her mother Philippa Jane (Jennie) Dunstan simply as Daughter Evelyn 1893-1920. (MacKechnie-21 23:54, 6 November 2021 (UTC))
