Anton Buechel, 69, a retired farmer from Jericho, Calumet, Wisconsin passed away at his home at 8:45 a.m., Monday, 22 July 1935 following a lingering illness. He was born on 6 November 1865 at Johnsburg, Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, a son of Johann "John" Buechel, 1819-1901 and Anna Maria (Pulvermacher) Buechel, 1832-1909. He married Miss Theresa Leitner on 21 January 1895 at Jericho.
For many years Anton was a farmer in the Jericho area. He was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church and its Holy Name Society in Jericho.
The survivors of Mr. Buechel were: his wife, Theresa, b. 1870; children, Engelbert E. Buechel, b. 1895 of New Holstein, Wisconsin; Hugo Buechel, b. 1901 at the homestead in Jericho; Herman John Buechel, b. 1913 of Charlestown, Wisconsin; siblings, Johann Buechel, b. 1861; Frank Buechel, b. 1862; Peter Buechel, b. 1863; Mathias Buechel, b. 1865; Margaret (Buechel) Freund, b. 1867; Joseph Buechel, b. 1870; William Buechel, b. 1872; Math J. Buechel, b. 1874; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Barbara Buechel, 1864-1878.
Mr. Buechel is buried at the Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery, Jericho, Calumet, Wisconsin. The Rev. H. E. Heimann officiated at his funeral.
