Biography
Thomas Heber was born in Yorkshire, England.
Thomas was born about 1543. He passed away about 1595. [1]
Thomas Heber was the eldest son of Reginald Heber of West Marton but he died before his father (from John Burke's description of the Heber family of Marton). His eldest son, Thomas 1566 - 1633 inherited the West Marton estate from this Thomas' father in 1600, returning from nearby Stainton Hall which had been purchased by Thomas' father 4 Nov 1564 (North Yorkshire Archives index) from Henry D'Arcy, who was his kinsman. The son, Thomas also purchased East Marton in 1601.
Thomas' 3rd son, Reginald moved to Austbry, near Ilkley in 1619 and later purchased Holling Hall, close to Ilkley. In 1665 Reginald's grandson, Thomas Heber of Holling Hall entered a pedigree, showing this Thomas was married to Jane, the daughter of Henry Colthurst of Edesforth. Jane was buried in 1623 at Marton.
