Biography

Mary Margaret keane was born at 2, Poplar Villas, Bloomfield, Belfast Ireland on June 10,1899. She was the daughter of John Keane and Ellen McKenna.[1] Her father was an Excise Officer. Mary Margaret was baptised on June 12, 1899. At some stage the family moved to Shamrock Villa, Drumcondra, Dublin and it was from there that Mary entered the Carmelite Monastery of St. Joseph at Kilmacud, Stillorgan, Co. Dublin on October 2, 1918. She made her profession on October 14 1920 and took the religious name Sister Mary Joseph Ann of the Blessed Trinity..[2] She was professed as a lay sister, but on May 2, 1941 she made her profession as a choir sister[3] Sr. Joseph Ann died on March 17, 1974 at the Carmelite Monastery of St. Joseph, Kilmacud, Stillorgan, Co, Dublin.[4]
