Biography

Cecil was born in 1918.^[1][2] He was the son of Luke Coghlan and Nannie Olive Roe.^[3][4][5]

Cecil enlisted in the US Army on 29 May 1941 to serve in World War II at Jacksonville Army Air Field, Florida.^[6] He was wounded in July 1944 in the line of duty by machine gun fire, taking a bullet in the arm and another bullet in the femur shaft that required pin fixation.^[7] He was discharged from the service for line of duty injuries.

Cecil rejoined the Unites States Army on 10 September 1948, serving until 15 April 1964.^[8] He retired with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.^[9]

Cecil passed away in 1992.^[10][2] He was interred at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia.^[9]
