Biography

Myron was born about 1831 in New York.^[1] He is the son of Chester Wright and Parthena Barber. He passed away on April 16, 1917, in the State Hospital in Kalamazoo, Kalamazoo County, Michigan.^[2] He was buried on April 17, 1917, in Lyon Lake Cemetery, Wright's Corners, Calhoun County, Michigan.^[3][4]

Myron W. Wright married Catharine Detterich on November 5, 1854, in Marshall, Calhoun County, Michigan.^[5]

Myron Wright was living in the household of Chester Wright and working as a farmer in Whitehall, Washington County, New York, the 1850 census,^[6] as head of household and farmer living in Athens, Calhoun County, Michigan, in the 1860 census,^[7] as Myron W. Wright in Fredonia Township, Calhoun County, Michigan, in the 1870 census,^[8] in the 1880 census,^[9] in the United States Census of Union Veterans and Widows of the Civil War, 1890, for Calhoun County, Michigan,^[10] as Myron Wright in the 1900 census,^[11] as Myron W. Wright, no occupation, in the 1910 census.^[12]

Myron W. Wright served as a private on the Union side during the Civil War, mustered into the 8th Michigan Cavalry, Company A, from December 19, 1862, and mustered out on September 1, 1863, due to disability from loss of speech.^[13][14]
