Funeral services for Mrs Hallie Ann Ashburn Shillings, 81, widow of Willie Shillings, were held at the Baptist church Sunday at 2 p.m. with burial at Clarkrange beside the last resting place of her husband and 5 children. She was a member of the Crossville Baptist Church. Mrs Shillings had not been well for several years, but had not been confined to her home continuously for several months, and her death was a shock when it came at 10 a.m. Friday. Hallie Ashburn Shillings was born April 16, 1861 and died October 9, 1942. She married Willie Shillings in 1881 and they had 12 children, 6 of whom preceded her in death. Mr Shillings died September 21, 1920. She leaves 2 sons, Marshall, Pleasant Hill; Harrison, Isoline; 4 daughters, Mrs Porter Conatser, Crossville; Mrs Ray Smaller, Lakehurst, NJ; Mrs H L Woody, Isoline; Mrs Mayford Deck, Isoline; 26 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Davis and Bob Ashburn, Clarkrange; 4 sisters, Mrs Joseph Lowe, Miss Angeline Ashburn, Mrs John Wakefield, Clarkrange; Mrs Sallie Phillips, Hanging Limb.^[1]
