Mary Ann Rebecca Vernon was daughter of Isaac Vernon III and his wife Mary. She was born about 1815 in North Carolina.
Mary Ann Rebecca Vernon's parents were Quakers until they were expelled because of "controversal power play" among the leaders of the Meeting. At time her father, Isaac Vernon moved his family to Limestone County Alabama.
1831 was an eventful year for Jesse Holt (abt.1806-1878). He left Essex County, Virginia, for Alabama early in that year, met, and married Mary Ann Rebecca Vernon and had his first child before the year rolled out. That child was John H. Wesley Holt (1831 April 4, to 1906).[1] They had eight children together.
In the 1850 census Mary (age 35) was in Limestone, Alabama, United States.[2]
Mary's husband Jesse remarried on 5 March 1855, so it is assumed that Mary died before that date.
