MARRIED
Feb. 27, at Dacca, Bengal, James Charles Maclean of the 11th Native Infantry, to Elizabeth Margaret, eldest daughter of Richard Owen Wynne, Chief Judge at Dacca.
Note by Martin Styan (profile manager): The newspapers disagree about the name of the bridegroom. The two names point to two brothers, from a Scottish aristocratic family, both in India and both already with wikitree profiles: Alexander MacLean of Ardgour (MacLean-2016) 1799-1872 married Helen Jane Dalrymple 1833 in Tamil Nadu, and James Charles MacLean (MacLean-2008) 1801-1829 married Jane Margaret Hall 9.4.1823 Bengal. Both are recorded as having wives other than Elizabeth Margaret Wynne, but she could easily have died young, leaving her husband free to marry again. Further investigation may clarify who Elizabeth Margaret Wynne actually married, and when she died.
