Biography

An interesting detail found in Haderslev Vesteramtstue Festeregister: a tenancy contract, by which Nis Hansen's son-in-law takes over the farm at Tornum.

In English: "Anders Enewoldsen has tenancy of his father-in-law, Nis Hansen's, half farm in Tornum, which has been handed over to him by contract of June 4 1761. According to letter of tenancy of March 27 1738 Nis Hansen had paid 24 sk. Anders Enewoldsen giver 1 rd". Expect amounts to be Rigsdaler and Skilling. At his funeral the words from the Bible were Paul's letters to the Galatians chapter six: For each will bear his own load
