Biography
Vernon was born 24 Nov 1904, in Cornhill, Sevier County, Arkansas. He was the son of Alex Alonzo and Margaret Annie (King) Cox.[1]
He married Elva Allman, 30 Apr 1922, in Howard County, Arkansas.[2] They divorced 24 Oct 1927, in Sevier County, Arkansas.[3]
He married second, Irene Eunice Dodgen. They had three children: Quincey L., Allen Bennett, and Kenneth Albert. Eunice also had another daughter, Emma Bernice, from her prior marriage to Eulis Gathright.
In 1940, Vernon was working as a timekeeper at a gravel pit in Texarkansas, Texas.[4] At the time of his death, he was working as a general manager for the Gifford Hill Concrete Company.
Vernon died of colon cancer, 27 Nov 1967, in Texarkansas, Arkansas, and is buried at East Memorial Gardens in Texarkana,[5]
