Biography

William Lloyd was most likely born in Sussex, in about 1777 (based on his age at death).

He married Mary Pack on 16 April 1804 in Harting. The marriage licence showed that both William and Mary were over 21 years of age, and were both living in Harting. One of the licence sponsors was Benjamin Blakemore, a carpenter of Harting. ^[1]

William and Mary seemed to settle in Rogate, but their local church was in Trotton. They had the following known children:

1. James, born in Rogate, baptised in Trotton on 2 August 1807 ^[2]
2. Harriet, born in Rogate, and baptised in Trotton on 6 August 1809 ^[3]
3. John, born in Rogate on 8 December 1811, baptised in Trotton on 15 December 1811 ^[4]
4. Maria, baptised in Harting on 23 December 1813 ^[5]
5. Elizabeth, born in Rogate, baptised in Trotton on 10 July 1814 ^[6]
6. Frances, born in Rogate, baptised in Trotton on 21 July 1816 ^[7]
7. William, baptised in Harting on 9 August 1818 ^[8]
8. Jane, born in Rogate, baptised in Trotton on 2 May 1819 ^[9]
9. Francis, born in Rogate, baptised in Trotton on 29 July 1821 ^[10]

William died in Rogate in 1839, aged 62,^[11], and was buried there on 15 March of that year. He was living in 'Langley' at the time. ^[12]
