Biography

Valerie Monckton was born on 12 September 1918, probably at Ightham Mote in Kent. She was the daughter of Walter Monckton and his wife Polly, born Mary A. S. Colyer-Fergusson. ^{[1] [2]} She was later known as Valerie Henderson Monckton. ^[3]

She married Sir William Basil Goulding, Bt, on 28 August 1939, at Holy Trinity church, Carrigart, County Donegal. The wedding was brought forward and held quietly because of the international situation. ^[3]

She died on 28 July 2003, at the age of 84. She was survived by 3 sons. ^[2]
