OBITUARY - Herman Heide 1961 - 2018

Herman Heide, loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend, aged 57 years of Winkler (MB), formally of Hochfeld, passed away peacefully in the late evening of October 9th at the St. Boniface Hospital.

Herman was born the oldest of two children to Herman and Anna Heide on June 15, 1961. He was baptized upon confession of his faith on May 29, 1983 at the Winkler Sommerfeld Church, and later married Tina Giesbrecht on October 2, 1983. They adopted two children, their daughter Purity on December 7th, 1999 and their son Trevor on December 17th, 2002. Herman loved his family very much and was always there for them. He was a fun-loving jokester that made everyone laugh. He was so proud of his children and he took them everywhere he went, even to the coffee shop.

He worked at Monarch Industries for many years and then Herman and Tina opened Heide’s Florist and worked side by side for almost 20 years. Herman enjoyed making flower deliveries and loved the special connections that he made with the recipients. After selling the Florist, he went to work at the Co-op Truck Stop. He called it his semi-retirement. It still gave him a chance to chit-chat with all the friends he made over the years, and gave him a bit more freedom to do what he loved to do FISH!!

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife of 35 years, Tina, one daughter, Purity and one son, Trevor his mother, Anna Heide, and one sister Maryanne (John) Dyck. As well as seven brothers-in-law, seven sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles.

He was predeceased by his father, Herman Heide in 2009 and numerous uncles and aunts.

Funeral service was held on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at the Winkler Mennonite Church. Interment followed at Westridge Memorial Gardens.

A special thank you to the doctors and staff at Boundary Trails Health Centre and St. Boniface Hospital, the paramedics, fire department and local police for the excellent care they all provided. As well as Wiebe Funeral Home for their compassion and caring service at this time of loss, Pastor Glen for your visits and guidance, all those who supported us through prayers, visits, flowers, food and gifts, and to those who took the time to make Herman’s funeral so special.
