Alfred Mordaunt Egerton was born on March 30, 1843 in York, Yorkshire, England, United Kingdom, son of Thomas Egerton (1809–1847) and Charlotte Catherine Milner (1812–1894).[1]
Alfred married Mary Georgina Ormsby-Gore (born about 1858; daughter of William Richard Ormsby-Gore and Emily Charlotte Seymour) on October 10, 1878, in Oswestry, Shropshire, England.[2] Their children were:[3]
He gained the rank of Colonel in the Royal Horse Guards. He was appointed Knight Commander, Royal Victorian Order (K.C.V.O.) He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.)
Alfred died on May 26, 1908 in Thame, Oxfordshire, England, aged 65.[4]
