Colonel Archibald Impey-Lovibond was born in 1823. He was the son of Edward Impey and Julie Adeline Antoinette de l'Etang. He married, firstly, Harriot Gladwin Duppa, daughter of Baldwin Duppa Duppa and Mary Gladwin, on 4 April 1846 at St. james, Dover, kent, England. He married, secondly, Clara Prudence Hanks, daughter of Francis Hanks and Prudence Birkbeck, on 25 July 1854 at Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. He died in 1897. He was given the name of Archibald Impey at birth. He fought in the Indian Mutiny. He fought in the Sikkim Expedition in 1860. In 1872 his name was legally changed to Archibald Impey-Lovibond by Royal Licence. He lived at Newhall, Ardleigh, Essex, England. He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Essex. He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Essex. He gained the rank of Colonel in the Bengal Engineers.
