Biography
William came to Franklin County Missouri with his mother, Mary Gilcrease, and his two brothers, Thomas and Abraham "Obie" Gilcrease in the 1840's or 1850's from Ireland.
William was born about 1830. He passed away in 1880.
William Gilcrease, was a 2nd Lieut., Co. I 26 MO. Infantry, Civil War. His two brothers also served in the Civil War, Union Army. His CW pension application # 795,881 was filed by wife, Betsy, from Calif. where she had gone with her sister Lockey looking for gold.
