Biography

Camilla “Buculo” baptized at Lipari, Provincia di Messina, Kingdom of Sicily, 10 January 1574, daughter of Mariano Bucolo and Domenica "Minichella" [di Rubino]; her sponsor was Alonso LoScavo.[1] She died at Lipari, after 6 September 1616.[2]

She married at Lipari, about 1595, Sebastiano Rodrigues. Sebastiano "Bastiano" Rodrigues was born in Spain about 1570.[3] He died at Lipari, after 20 January 1644.[4] He was a soldier in the garrison of Lipari.

He was perhaps the Sebastiano Rodrigues was possibly related to one Francesco Rodrigues, spagnolo, who married at Lipari, 7 January 1595 at Lipari, Pinta Amendola.[5]

In the 1610 Census of Lipari, Sabastian Rodriguez, aged 40, was with his wife (Gamila) and five children (Miguel, 15; Diego, 6; Juan, 5; Francisca, and Beatriz) as a soldato in the presidio di Lipari.[6]

  3. Francesca Rodrigues, bap. 15 July 1600; m. Mariano Lambrosa.
  4. Beatrice Rodrigues, bap. 29 7bre (Sept.) 1602; sponsors were Don Alonso Pemintes and Don Costensina Bibnella. She m. (1) Lipari, 7 April 1615, by Reverendo DiBianco, Muntuni Martini, Calabrese. The witnesses were Francesco Rijtano and Francesco Dechilaro. She m. (2) Giovanni Caravaglio, b. ca. 1601; bur. Lipari, 21 April 1673: "Joannes Caravaglio, soldier of the city of Lipari presidio, son of the late Joanni Caravaglio, age about 72 years."
  5. Diego Rodrigues, bap. 13 Feb. 1605; sponsor was Don Paolo Vitale.
  6. Giovanni Rodrigues, b. ca. 1608; Joannam Rodrigues, son of Sebastiani Rodrigues, miles huis presidio civitate, m. Lipari, 20 Jan. 1644, by Reverendo Don Francesco di Falco, Caterina Xiachitano, dau. of Pietro Xiachitano and Mirase di Battaglia. The witnesses were Maestro Placido Russo, Giovanni Gregorio Nigro and Anello diFalco.
  7. Andrea Rodrigues, bap. 15 Aug. 1610; no sponsor listed. He was bur. Lipari, 23 March 1654, ae. ca. 60: "Andreas Rodrigues filius qm Sebastiani Rodrigues et qm Camilla [binding] miles huis Presidii etatis sue annora 60 circiter in domo aliena Ami improvisa." He m. Porsia de Gennaro, bap. Lipari, 13 Jan. 1610, dau. of Antonello de Gennaro and Mariella di Masi; sponsor was Giulio d'Ambrosio.
  8. Pietro Rodrigues, bap. 28 July 1613; sponsors were Epifanio Carozza and Cassandra Russo. Pietro Rodrigues, miles presidio nobilia et fidili, d. Lipari, 29 8bre (Oct.) 1675, ae. ca. 65; bur. Lipari, 29 8bre (Oct.) 1675. He m. Caterina Napuliani, bap. Lipari, 26 Nov. 1617, dau. of Giuseppe Napuliani and Costanza Lauricella; sponsor was Giovanni Andrea. On 10 Nov. 1636, information was entered against Michele and Pietro Rodriguez for violence against Michele Molina.[11]
  9. Maria Rodrigues, bap. 6 Sept. 1616; her sponsors were Perto Nigro and Brigita Russo.
