Biography

Giovanna was born in Palermo in 1833 to Gaetano Verducci or Verdisi and Anna La Corte ^[1]. In 1852 at age 19, she married 25-year-old Domenico Lo Verde, a greengrocer ^[2]. They had several children, one born in Salaparuta. The family relocated to Santa Margherita di Belice before November 1882. Giovanna died in 1884 at age 51 ^[3].

Research Notes

Son Nunzio's marriage record gives her the last name of Verdisi rather than Verducci. Her death record says Verdese.
