Lacy was born in about 1922 in Virginia. He was the son of John Mallory Wooden and Sadie Adline (Ellis) Wooden.[1]
In the 1930 census Lacy (age 10) was living in Guilford, Guilford, Surry, Virginia, USA.[2]
In 1935 according to 1940 census Lacy (age about 15) was living in Guilford, Surry, Virginia.[3]

Obituary:
The Rev. Lacy L. Wooden departed this life on Wednesday, April 18, 2007, at John Randolph Medical Center. He was born December 14, 1919, to the late Mallory and Sadye Wooden in Surry County, Va.
He confessed Christ at an early age and became a member of Union Baptist Church in Surry County. During the pastoral leadership of the Rev. William O. Greene, Lacy was ordained as a minister. On June 30, 1946, he was married to Rebecca J. Wooden and to this union two daughters were born: Gabriella W. Clark and Faye W. Freeman.
He is survived by his wife, daughters, grandchildren, Kenneth and Keisha Freeman, Valisa and Marvin Clark; two sisters, Dorothy Howell of Atlanta, Ga., and Ophelia Peters of Washington, D.C.; sister-in-laws, Carlene B. Wooden of Spring Grove, Va., Bertie Harrison of York County, Va., Flossie Gilchrist (William) of Spring Grove, Va., and Esther Marshall of Newport News, Va.; one brother-in-law, Melvin Johns (Blanche) of Spring Grove, Va.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 21, at St. Paul Holiness Church with the Rev. William O. Greene officiating.
Interment will be in Weirneck Cemetery.
Viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Poole's Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church. Relatives and friends are asked to assemble by 10:45 a.m. Saturday at the church.
