August was born in Borgvik 28 June 1853 to nämndeman Jonas Jansson and his wife Brita Olsdotter.[1]
August Jonasson married Selma Charlotta Petersson 26 August 1894.[2] They lived in Värmskog with their two children.[3] In January 1901 the family moved to Karlstad.[4] Selma Charlotta died in 1901.[5]
In 1924, when the children had moved out, August Jonsson moved back to Borgvik.[6] In 1930 he moved to Göteborg, where his daughter lived.[7]
When August Jonsson died 5 March 1931 he was a widower since 11 September 1901.[8]
