Biography

Theophilus was born in 1886. He was the son of Burley Biggs and Amanda McGranahan. His name is spelled variously in records: Theopulus, Theopolis, etc. But on places where his signature is recorded it is spelled Theophilus.

His father died when he was a baby and his mother remarried. He grew up in the Raehn household. He was recorded at age 13 in 1900, as a coal miner with his stepfather.

He married Bertha McDonald (1889-1956) in 1904.^[1][2] They had the following children, per FS and Find a Grave:

Emerson Burrel Biggs 1905-1959 (m. Helen Reichert)

Kenneth Biggs 1907-1982 (m. Elizabeth Elliott)

Dorothy Biggs Spiegel 1909-1990

In census records from 1910 on, he was recorded as a jeweler, and as a watchmaker on his WWI draft registration.

He passed away in 1959.
