Note: 2012: NORWICH, CT - One person was killed in a two-car collision on I-395 Saturday morning when one of the vehicles became airborne, police say. Police said that a Jeep, driven by Paul Pluff, 52, collided into the back of Volkswagen Jetta, operated by Daniel Humbert, 19. Both vehicles were traveling northbound on I-395 about a half mile south of exit 81E. The Jetta came to a controlled stop in the right-hand breakdown lane. The Jeep drove off the right-hand embankment and proceeded to strike a tree and became airborne. Pluff was ejected from the Jeep as it went into the air and the vehicle eventually came to a stop. The passenger inside the Jeep, Marcia Pluff, was pronounced dead on the scene. Paul Pluff was transported to Backus Hospital for treatment of his injuries. Humbert was not injured in the accident. The right lane of the highway was closed for some time due to an investigation into the accident. The accident happened at approximately 10:30 a.m. Saturday. ^[4] 2012: WEST SPRINGFIELD, MA - Marcia Lynn (Dombkowski) Pluff, 52, died tragically in a car accident on Saturday. She was born in Springfield on July 23, 1959 and lived in West Springfield her entire life, graduating from W. Springfield High School class of 1977. Marcia was previously the Executive Secretary to the President of Smith and Wesson for 25 years. She was a communicant of the former St. Ann's Church in W. Spfld. Marcia was the primary caregiver to her late father, Joseph Dombkowski, who passed away in 2006. She has taken her mother, Helene (Bisinere) Dombkowski, into her home and cared for her for the last 5 years. She was a loving wife, doting mother, and caring sister. Marcia loved her family vacations at Hampton Beach and also enjoyed just spending time with family and friends at her pool. Music was a joy in her life and was especially a fan of the Beatles and all music in general. Marcia leaves her beloved husband, Paul Pluff, her loving daughter, Jennifer Serra of Agawam, her two stepchildren, Justin and Melissa Pluff, her brothers, Joseph Dombkowski and his wife Cheryl of Belchertown, John Dombkowski and his wife Susan of W. Spfld, her sister, Barbara Dombkowski of W. Spfld;. her adored grandchildren, Trevor and Kaylin Pluff, her much loved nieces and nephews, Joey and Casey Dombkowski, Tommy Raschi and Nick Dombkowski. and many cousins, aunts and uncles. The funeral will be Thursday 10AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 47 Pine St. The burial will follow at St. Thomas Cemetery. ^[1]
