Buried in Cheyenne Cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma.

Obituary: Julia Ballenger, as she always wished to be known by her friends and neighbors, was born March 17, 1885 and passed away in Oklahoma City, OK, March 1, 1937, at the age of 51 years, 11 months and 16 days. She was married to Dr. B.M. Ballenger in 1909. To this union six children were born: Mrs. Bonnie Arnold, Clovis, New Mexico; Mrs. Mildred Payne, Clinton, Oklahoma; Beulah Rae, B.M. Jr., and J. W. Ballenger, of Strong City, OK. She also reared six step-children: Mrs. Grover Wilson and Mrs. Abb Hooper, of Pampa, Texas; Mrs. Dick Cunningham, of Sayre, Okla.; Mrs. Otis Shelton, Herring, Okla.; and Bessie and Guy who preceded her in death some years ago. Besides her children she leaves to morn her going her husband, Dr. B. M. Ballenger; her mother, Mrs. J. M. Stephenson; four sisters, Mrs. H.D. Bonnard, Bristow, Okla.; Mrs. E. B. Bowman, Cheyenne, Okla.; Mrs. Lee McDaniels, Crawford, Okla.; four brothers, John Stephenson, Crawford, Okla.; Jim and Ernest Stephenson of Roll, Okla., and Virgil Stepehenson of Durham, Okla.; and three grandchildren and eight step grand children. She was a kind, faithful and loving wife, mother and friend. Julia Ballenger gave her life in service to others and was always patient and kind to everyone. It was never too cold, or dark for her, when called on, to render aid to the sick. She bore to the last her several suffering with fortitude and a smile. She left evidence with her daughter just before she passed away that she had made peace with her God and sang praises to her Savior and prayed for her surviving family and friends a short time before she died singing. "Jesus Lover of My Soul." Rev. Fred Wright, a former pastor of the Baptist church of Strong City, assisted by Rev. Hill, pastor of the Methodist church of Cheyenne conducted the services in the Baptist church of Strong City, after which interment was made in the Cheyenne Cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma. The Tunnard Funeral Home, of Cheyenne, was in charge. "Uncle Tobe" Hughes of Cheyenne, led in prayer as requested by Mrs. Ballenger years ago.
