Charity is my 5th Great Grandmother. There is conflicting evidence as to whether the wife of John Taylor was Charity White, daughter of Daniel White and Submit Morton, or Charity Row. According to a note at FindAGrave, "Contributor Pat Evans has found a Feb 1,1789 marriage record in Williamsburg of Elisha Hunt and Charity Row. This provides another avenue to search for her origins. The marriage date fits perfectly with the births of her children, as does the marriage location as evidenced by son Atherton's death record. The Rowe surname is found in Hampshire County, Mass, albeit infrequently."

I may have DNA evidence of the Daniel White & Submit Morton theory, however.

I have several autosomal matches to her descendants on a 16cM stretch of my 12th Chromosome. I also have a match in that identical stretch to someone who traces her line not from the Hunts, but from Submit Morton's brother Benjamin.

That would suggest that the presence of that stretch of DNA in descendants of Elisha Hunt was of Morton origin, thus evidencing Daniel White and Submit Morton to be Charity's parents.
