Biography

Ewing was born about 1857. He is the son of William Hickman and Katy Lewis.

At the time of the 1870 Census, the family of William and Katie Hickman can be found living on a farm in Liberty County, Texas. Those in the household included William M Hickman (34 yrs), Head of Household, occupation, Farmer, Katie A Hickman (30yrs), born in Mississippi, Ewing Hickman (13 yrs), Charity Hickman (11 yrs), Martha M Hickman (6 yrs), James J Hickman (4 yrs), Celia Hickman (2 yrs) and Jessee Hickman (5/12). Katie's mother, Athe Louis (70 yrs) was also included in the household.
