Edward was born in 1747.
Edward Meux, of Gatcombe b.1747, MP married (1) Elizabeth Crow of Alvington, (2) Elizabeth Troughear, daughter of Leonard Troughear, later Lord Holmes of Kilmallock.
He passed away in 1782.

He was returned for Yarmouth at the General Election of 1774 on the interest of his father-in-law ,Worsley made way for his second cousin James Worsley. He was returned for another borough under Holmes control in December 1775,but no vote in the Commons is recorded until 8 Mar 1780,when he supported Lord North's Administration to vote regularly with North until the end . There is no record of any intervention in debate . He died in August 1782
