Biography

Frederick was born around 1803 in Holme, Huntingdonshire at his family's seat of Holmewood Hall. He was the son of Vice Admiral Thomas Wells and Sarah Fremantle.^[1]

Hon. Frederick Octavius Wells held the office of Chief Justice [Agra]. He was in the Bengal Civil Service.^[2]

He married Maria Alicia Scott in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, India in 1827.^[3] They had 9 known children:

He was involved in a court case regarding his brother's will, in which he was a beneficiary, the dispute involving whether he had a lifetime interest or absolute interest in the bequest. The legislation continued after his death on behalf of his successors.

He passed away in 1847 in Calcutta, India.
