Biography

Margaret Mary (Riddell) Lanman was born in 1917 at Clydeside, Lankarshire, Scotland, the daughter of William Riddell (1870–1940) and Margaret "Maggie" Campbell (1878–1947).

Margaret married John Douglas Lanman (1917-2012) in 1943 at Chantonbury, Sussex, UK. ^[1][2] Their children are:

Margaret resided in Wilton by Salisbury, Wiltshire, Sussex, United Kingdom. She passed away in 2012. She and her husband's cremated ashes were scattered in Lavington Park and a commemorative plaque is on the containing garden wall adjacent to St Peter’s (which also served as the school chapel) in East Lavington, Petworth, West Sussex, England, United Kingdom.^[3]

From son Ian Lanman: "My mother said she was born on Clydeside before her family moved west to Blackford in Perthshire and then south to Sussex with the great farming migration from Scotland to England of the 1920s..Both of my parents were cremated in Salisbury and ashes scattered in Lavington Park, Sussex, the home of the school where my father, as physics teacher and latterly deputy head, and mother as deputy (nursing) matron spent the whole of their post war working lives. Her nickname when young was Daisy."
