He can be found in the 1850 US Census. He is 44 years old and working as a clerk in a lumber yard. His wife Clementina is 36 years old and their son John is 6 years old. [4]
The 1855 New York Census paints a different picture. He describes himself as a merchant, not a clerk. [5]
He moved to Ontario with his son John. He settled in Woodstock, Ontario where Clementina passed away May 1869. Daniel had her taken to the family plot in Greenwood Cemetery, Brooklin, New York. [6]
Daniel moved in with his son John in Paris, Ontario where he passed away 8 Apr 1881 in Paris, Ontario. His death was published Wed Apr 13 1881 in New York Evening Post, New York, New York. [7]He also was buried in Brooklyn, New York. [8]
