Levi Heimbach was born in 1829 in Center Township, Snyder County, Pennsylvania. He was the son of Henry Heimbach and Elizabeth Hook.
Levi married Harriet Moyer. There were seven known children born into this marriage.
At about age 34 Levi registered for military service on 4 Nov 1863 in Selinsgrove, Snyder, Pennsylvania. As a corporal in Company E of the 29th Pennsylvania Volunteers Infantry, Levi was killed in action in Fredericksburg, Spotsylvania, Virginia on 10 May 1864. He was buried in Hassingers Old Cemetery in Middlebury, Snyder, Pennsylvania.
