Biography

Birth

The ancestry of Hannah Brooks is unknown. The 1886 Kidder genealogy says that she was born on 10 Jan 1778,^[1] and the FindAGrave memorial of Hannah Kidder says that her maiden name Brooks and that she was she was born on that date at Acworth, New Hampshire,^[2] but neither of these sources cites any evidence, and a census search for a Brooks family living at Acworth in 1800 or 1810 found none listed. The death record of her son James A. Kidder names his mother as Hannah Brooks.^[3]

Marriage

Hannah Brooks married James Kidder.^[1] No record of the marriage has been found, but their first known child was born at Alstead, New Hampshire, probably on 18 Sep 1802;; see the Research Notes on her husband's profile.^[4]

Death

Hannah (Brooks) Kidder died on 11 Mar 1843,^[1] probably in the village of East Alstead in Alstead, New Hampshire, where her gravestone at the East Alstead Cemetery says that she died on that date at the age of 86.^[2]
