Biography

Martin was born in 1881, the son of Alexander Moisan and Margaret Stravens. Growing up, he worked on his family farm, a one square mile Donation Land Claim in French Prairie (aka Brooks) in Marion County, Oregon.

Martin married Josephine May Luper in Grants Pass, Oregon on 23 Aug 1909.[1] They were still married in 1917/18 when he filled out his Draft Board Registration for WWI.[2] They were living at 1493 E Pine St in Portland, and Martin was working for the Southern Pacific Union Depot in Portland..[3]

In the 1920 US Federal Census for Marion County, Oregon, Mart is living back on the farm with his family.[4]

In 1940, the US Federal Census for Salem, Oregon shows Martin Moisan, age 58, is a lodger in Salem. with Grace Perkins (related?). His occupation is farmer.[5]

Martin Moisan passed away in 1972, and was laid to rest in Mount Crest Abbey Mausoleum.[6]
