Matilda was born about 1823.^[1] She was the daughter of Ralph Hardy Shepherd.

She married William Finnis in 1845.^[2][3]

In 1854 she married Lewis Brown or Browne.^[4]

They immigrated to New Zealand.

She passed away in 1894.^[5][6]
