Biography
Thomas Simmons was born in about 1815 in Gillingham, Kent. He was the son of James and Mary Ann Simmons[1].
In 1858 he married widow Susan Elliott nee Wilson in Barnham Broom, Norfolk,[2] and they had 5 children: Thomas Arthur (b.1859), Susan Ellen Phillis (b.1861), Charles Albert (b.1863), Kate Caroline (b.1866) and Horace George (b.1868). Thomas had previously fathered an illegitimate daughter Julia Ann Twite (b.1858, d.1923) with Sarah Twite.
Thomas died aged 86 in 1902 in Saxlingham Nethergate, Norfolk,[3] and was buried there[4].
