Published Genealogical Information

  • Secondary Source, Clifford Beebe, Genealogy of the Family of Beebe, [2] Data Extract:
  1. ) Beebe Genealogy Vol I, Page 42. Vital data: Ebenezer Beebe (134), son of Ebenezer (41), was born about 1732 at New London, Conn. and he died before 14 March 1775 at New London.
    1. ) Marriage. Ebenezer Beebe married Elizabeth Beckwith (div), daughter of Nathan Beckwith.
      1. ) Children: Thomas (396)
    2. ) Second marriage. Ebenezer Beebe married second, Lucy ____ around 1746/7 or before; she survived her husband. {Editorial, the assignment, by Clifford Beebe, of Lucy as the widow of Ebenezer of this profile was based on an incorrect assignment of one of two New London, Conn., probate records for Ebenezer as discussed in the biography. A thorough examination of the probate records reveals Ebenezer Beebe Jr. died in 1783 and that Abigail was his wife and widow, while Lucy Beebe cited in the 1775 Probate case was, in fact, the widow of Ebenezer Beebe Sr., hence his step-mother (or possibly his mother). }
      1. ) Children: Eliphalet (397) and Ebenezer (398) {Editorial Comment (RRB:) Clifford Beebe's genealogy does NOT include Ruel as a son of Ebenezer Beebe.}

John Isham's Co, under the regimental command of Col John Chester; he fought in the battle of Long Island and White Plains. He re-enlisted and served again from Aug to Sep 1778 in in the CT Militia in Capt. Samuel Gilbert's Co. He was granted a pension in 1832 at White Creek, NY. Mercy, his wife, Aug. 3, 1852, aet. 82." The Peter's genealogy shows death as 3 Aug 1839 which is more likely. He married Mercy Peters on 11 Mar 1779.
