Biography

Trueman LeFavour Hill was born on 13 June 1849 in Lowell, Massachusetts, USA, his father, Wright, was 23 and his mother, Sarah, was 20. As of 1870 he was employed as a Cabinetmaker and living in Massachusetts.

In 1876, at age 27, he is a registered voter in San Francisco, CA. In 1880 at age 30 he joins the California National Guard.

He had two sons with Jennie Annette Lundquist (Edwin Wright Hill in 1881 & Joseph Eastland Hill in 1885). They do not appear to have married as (1) no record can be located and (2) she never changed her surname to Hill. He also had a son (Ralph Trueman Hill) in 1886 with Sadie Limbrath (c.1865) who he would later marry in 1892.

After the death of his father he and his nieces pursued a legal dispute with his brother Edwin who had remained in Massachusetts and was executor of the will over distribution of assets. There was a protracted court case. He died on 8 May 1910 at a hotel in Massachusetts while waiting to make a court appearance in the inheritance matter.

The brothers are buried together with the same headstone in Lowell, Massachusetts..
