Sidney Blandford was born in 1874 in St. John's, Newfoundland. His parents were Esau Blandford and Selina Bennett.

He married Mary Stanley on October 10, 1900. ^[1] On his marriage record, his age is recorded as 26 years and his place of birth was St John's, Newfoundland. His parents were recorded as Esaw Blandford and Selena Bennett.
