Irene (Arthur) Van Ess was born on 25 Oct 1903 in Grand Rapids, Kent, Michigan, United States, son of Fred J Arthur (1872 - 1924) and Jane (Littlefield) Arthur (1878 - 1962).
His brother was Earl Mason Arthur (1899 - ~1969).
