Biography

Joseph Corkey was born in New York State.

Joseph was born in 1836 in Westchester, New York. He was the son of Samuel Corkey and Margaret Dunlap, both immigrants from Ireland. He was still single in 1860, living on his father's farm with his family.

He married Margaret, a New York-born daughter of Irish parents, probably around 1865 (she was born 1845, eldest son was 14 in 1880).

By 1880 his growing family were living in New London, Connecticut.

Joseph appears in censuses up to 1900 but none thereafter.

He passed away in either 1900 or 1904.^[1]

His widow probably died in 1929.^[2]
