Biography

Henry Wiese was a Texan.

Henry Wiese has German Roots.

Henry F. Wiese was the son of Henry and Minna Wiese, a German immigrants. He was living with Minna, widowed, in 1880 along with two sisters.^[1] In 1880, Henry was working as a tinner.

In 1889, Henry married Fannie Freeman. The couple may not have been able to have their own children.^[2] In 1900, they had a three year old son with them, William Henry Wiese, who in 1910 is revealed to be an adopted son. Henry was still working as a tinner in 1900 for Holtkamp Hardware Store.

The family lived in the Houston Heights, a streetcar suburb of Houston, Texas. Sadly, Fannie died in 1919 of cancer. Henry only survived her by three years; he lived with his son until his death in 1922.

1. ↑ Minna is widowed in the census, and all three children were reportedly born in Texas; it is fair to assume that the family may have come to the states in the 1850s and the father passed away by 1880, possibly even after the youngest (Theresa's) birth, around 1869.
2. ↑ In the 1900 Census, Fannie reports that one of two children is living, so she may have given birth to a child that didn't survive. But in the 1910 Census, she says she has given birth to zero children and William is clearly reported to be adopted.
