Biography
Isidora Kosach was born on 8 March 1888,[1] likely in town of Novohrad-Volynskyi, Russian Empire (now Zviahel, Ukraine) based on her sibling information.
She was the daughter of Petr Kosach and Olga Dragomanova. Her mother (pen name Olena Pchilka) and her sister Lesya Ukrainka were well known Ukraine poets.[2]
She was an Assistant professor of plant Physiology at the Kiev Institute of Agriculture.[3]
She was arrested and imprisoned in the Soviet Union, and released in 1939.
In 1949, Isidora's daughter Olga and family emigrated to the United States. Isidora was able to join them in 1950.[4]
In the 1950 US census, Izadora Borysiv (age 62, born about 1888 in Ukrainia) was living in Piscataway, Middlesex, New Jersey, United States, with daugher Olga Dacko and her family.[5]
She died on 12 April 1980 at age 92. She was buried at the St Andrew Ukrainian cemetery in South Bound Brook, New Jersey, United States.[1]
