George Browne was the son of John Browne and Mary Browne.
He married Alicia Bingham, daughter of Sir Henry Bingham, 1st Bt. and Catherine Byrne.
He died in May 1698.
He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Browne, of the Neale, near Ballinrobe, co. Mayo [N.S., 1636] in 1670, although he did not assume the title.
In November 1684 he was regranted The Neale and other lands in County Mayo which had belonged to his father.
He held the office of Sheriff of County Mayo in 1690.
