Biography

Dennis M Smith was born in Worcester, Massachusetts to Dennis Smith and Esther Covill about 1830.

Dennis was the third child born out of four born to Dennis and Esther Smith.

In 1850, Dennis aged 20 was living with his parents Denice Smith and Ester Smith, both recorded as age 48, in Holden, Worcester, Massachusetts; along with his presumed siblings Alice, age 22, and Jasper, 11. Denice and his father both were recorded as bootmakers.

Dennis aged 23 in 1853 Married Fanny Fellows daughter of John and Nancy Fellows in Hardwick, Worcester, Massachusetts.

In 1855 the Massachusetts state census recorded Dennis Smith Jr. and Fanny Smith, both aged 20 to 30, living in Holden with Mary Fellows, aged 5 to 10. Dennis worked as a mule spinner. His parents, Dennis Smith (a laborer) and Esther Smith, aged 50 to 60, were two households away, with Jasper D. Smith, aged 15 to 20 and a mule spinner.

Dennis Smith aged 29 was living with his wife Fanny with her parents John and Nancy Fellows in Barre, Worcester, Massachusetts in 1860. Dennis Smith aged 39 was living in West Brookfield, Worcester, Massachusetts; Along with his wife Fanny and their children in 1870. Dennis age 49 was living in West Brookfield, Worcester, Massachusetts along with Fanny his wife and their children and working as a Farmer in 1880. Dennis M Smith was living in West Brookfield, Worcester, Massachusetts and served in the Military from January 1863 to January 1866 and listed in the Census for the Union Veterans and Widows of 1890. Dennis Smith aged 70 was living in Brimfield, Hampden, Massachusetts; Along with his Wife Fanny and two of their children in 1900. Dennis M Smith aged 78 passed away on September 24, 1909 in West Brimfield, Hampden, Massachusetts.
