Kenneth was born in 1914 at Caterham Barracks, Godalming, Surrey.[1]
He joined the Scots Guards (his father's regiment) in 1932, rose to the rank of WO1 (RSM First Battalion).

He was discharged in 1954 to join the Gordon Highlanders.

He took up a position with the Aberdeen University Officer Training Corps. He was promoted Captain in 1953. He left the Army in 1957 to emigrate to Africa with his wife and daughter, and from there he moved on to New Zealand in 1961. He passed away in 1985.
