Frank Critchley was born in Leigh, Lancashire, England.

Frank Critchley was born on 21 July 1909 in Leigh, Lancashire, England, the son of John Critchley and Mary Ann Gregory. ^{[1] [2]}

In 1911 he was living with his parents and 9 siblings at 30 Platt Street, Leigh. ^[1]

He married Margaret Roberts in 1936. Their marriage was registered in Leigh.^[3]

In 1939, employed a general labourer at a cable works, he was living at 34 Bonnywell Road, Leigh.^[4]

He died on 1 September 1944 in Italy. He is remebered in Montecchio War Cemetery, Montecchio, Provincia di Pesaro e Urbino, Marche.^[5]
