William married twice, his first wife was Lucinda Wickwire whom he married before 1880 estimated from the birth of their first known child. Lucinda was deceased by 1900,[2] and William married his second wife, Anna Marie Guenther, before 1908 as evidenced by the birth of their first child together.

In the 1900 census William (age 44) was the widowed head of household in Sergeant Township, McKean, Pennsylvania, United States.[2]
In the 1910 census William (age 52) was the married head of household in Johnsonburg, Elk, Pennsylvania, United States.[5]
In the 1920 census William (age 62) was the married head of household in Elk, Pennsylvania, United States.[6]
William Scout Ogden was buried in Lebanon Lutheran Cemetery, Kanesholm, McKean County, Pennsylvania, United States with a death date of 1928 on his headstone.[7]
