Eliza Henriette "Hetta" Comstock was born 4 March 1808 at East Lyme, New London County, Connecticut, daughter of Peter Comstock (1779–1862) and Sally (Warren) Comstock (1785–1830); married 1 Oct 1826 to Capt. James Loomis,^[1] born 30 March 1800, son of Joel Loomis and Hannah Angell; lost at sea with her husband 2 Dec 1831 in a storm on the ship Alabama, on passage from New York to Mobile, Alabama; ^[2] a memorial marker for James and Eliza H. Loomis is located at East Lyme Cemetery, East Lyme, New London County, Connecticut, USA.^[3]
