Since Calvin had an occupation that was flexible to relocation, when the younger children were old enough to attend college, the family moved from Osbourn, Kansas to Topeka; so they could attend Washburn University. Then Mal got an athletic scholarship to Yale and the entire family moved again to Connecticut.
